Jarrett Allen is finding out for himself just how ruthless some fans can be.

On the eve of his first All-Star appearance, the Cavs center found himself under fire by fans for his outfit, which featured super casual clothes.

While the outfit won’t be winning any fashion awards, many were quick to brush off the notion that it’s a bad ensemble.

The guy is all about being simple and comfortable, and he expressed that in an interview after his photo went viral.

“it’s funny cause I thought I was okay. What am I supposed to do? Wear a $5,000 chain to the game? It’s just a casual outfit that I feel comfortable in, so…”

He also responded on Twitter, telling fans that he likes to keep things casual.

For some reason, fashion seems to be a hot-button issue for the NBA community. Besides playing fashion police with Allen, there were a lot of people who criticized Russell Westbrook for his choice of clothing (when he decided to wear a skirt for a photoshoot).

“Not no n-gga I ever grew up and messed around with gonna be walking around in the streets with a dress on and some muthaf—ing boots and keep my respect and say he heterosexual,” said Kwame Brown on skirtgate. “Now if he gay, cool I don’t give a f-ck.

But when you say you a heterosexual male and that’s what you do, then f-ck you and that’s my opinion.”

Obviously, Allen didn’t get it as bad as Russ, but it just goes to show how much people pay attention to what these players are wearing.

Kudos to Allen for keeping his cool and handling the situation so well. It’s clear that he is comfortable enough in his own skin to dress however he wants.

Though, as an NBA All-Star, criticism from fans is something he’ll just have to get used to.
