Jaylen Brown is having a tough summer after an incredible run through the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Brown delivered for the Celtics throughout their postseason run and enabled them to make it all the way to the NBA Finals. However, the gratitude he gets for his performances is being included in trade packages to bring Kevin Durant to Boston.

Brown was playing against the Golden State Warriors in the Finals, where he saw teammate Jayson Tatum struggle mightily due to the incredible defensive effort of Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins slowed the Celtics’ offense down as one of the best defensive players on the Warriors. His performances were impactful and could have been the difference-maker after the Warriors fell to a 2-1 deficit early.

Wiggins had expressed a desire to not get vaccinated but got the jab to be able to play with the Warriors in California. Despite the fact the Warriors won the 2022 NBA Championship, Wiggins had revealed that he wishes he didn’t get the vaccine. Jaylen Brown decided to like a story revealing this information.

Liking a tweet isn’t an endorsement of anything, but it is interesting to wonder what Brown’s motivations were when he liked that tweet. Did he like it because he’d rather have Wiggins miss the Finals over the vaccine issue so the Celtics run could have been easier? Or did he like it because he agrees with Wiggins?

Brown probably just liked the tweet without realizing the implications. There is nothing that JB has said that would indicate he doesn’t believe in vaccines, so he probably just liked the tweet because it popped up on his timeline.

The first NBA player to ever sign with Kanye West is going to have a tough offseason as his name will be in trade rumors until there is finality on the Kevin Durant situation. If Boston fails to acquire KD, they may have a very hard time bringing Brown back to their set-up and getting him to be motivated for another run to the Finals.
