Donovan Mitchell is one of the best shooting guards in the league. There’s no question that can be a difference-maker for any team offensively. Mitchell is a legitimate three-level scorer, and he had a productive season with the Utah Jazz last season, averaging 25.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 5.3 APG.

There has been a lot of speculation about Donovan Mitchell potentially getting traded in the near future. Adrian Wojnarowski notably reported that the Utah Jazz have recently started listening to offers for the star shooting guard.

After previously shutting down inquiries on moving All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell, rival teams say the Utah Jazz are showing a willingness to listen on possible trade scenarios, sources tell ESPN.

The asking price appears to be steep, but in the wake of Utah’s recent Rudy Gobert blockbuster deal to Minnesota, the Jazz are no longer simply dismissing calls on Mitchell, sources said.

The two teams that Donovan Mitchell has most frequently been linked to are the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat. However, it looks as though the New York Knicks have recently taken the lead in the sweepstakes. Heat insiders Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald have recently revealed that the New York Knicks are “widely considered the favorite” to land the shooting guard, as they have a lot of draft capital they could potentially include in a deal.

Regarding Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, the New York Knicks are widely considered the favorite to acquire him in a trade in part because they have up to eight first-round picks available to include in a deal. The Heat doesn’t own that type of draft capital, which the Jazz reportedly covet.

There is no doubt that Donovan Mitchell could potentially be a great addition to the New York Knicks. They have not been shy about making big moves this summer, notably signing Jalen Brunson to a massive deal.

It remains to be seen where Donovan Mitchell gets traded, and things could still change before the start of the season. However, as of right now, it looks as though the Knicks are firmly in the driver’s seat for Donovan Mitchell.
