There isn’t a fan of the NBA that keeps up with the league that isn’t aware of the Ime Udoka situation at this point. The Boston Celtics’ Head Coach was at the top of the world following the Celtics’ amazing run to the NBA Finals, but it all came crashing down. Udoka has been suspended by the organization for a year after news about him having an affair with a female staffer on the Celtics came out.

What was initially reported as a consensual situation seems to have been a more murky mess as more details have come out. This saga has been marked by how little concrete information has been made public, and most people have been speculating about what has happened in Boston. And the comments from the likes of Matt Barnes about how it was more messed up than people realize haven’t helped.

Jaylen Brown On The Shocked And Confused Reaction To The Ime Udoka Situation

The first question many have pondered is what the situation with the Celtics’ team is, having just lost their Head Coach out of the blue. Many thought that the team’s stars would be privy to information, but if they were, they are keeping a tight lid on it. Jaylen Brown fielded questions on media day about it, sharing his initial reaction and suggesting that even the team doesn’t know much at all.

"We were all shocked… a little confused. A lot of information wasn't being shared with us."

“Initial reactions,” Brown said. “I think I was overall shocked by what was going on, a little confused, a little bit but a lot of the information wasn’t being shared with us or members of the team so you can’t really comment on it.

“It’s a lot going on,” Brown said. “Some we could control, some we couldn’t. The best we can say is to move on. Initially, reaction, I was a little confused. No one really has any of the information so it’s difficult to make a comment on how things were supposed to go and how the process went or anything. The best thing we can do is put our best foot forward.”

And something else Brown reportedly said seemed to suggest that there is more to the story than meets the eye as well.

Jaylen Brown on Udoka suspension: "I wish we had more details. From what we know, it’s hard to make a decision based on whether it’s consensual or not in the workplace, which we know has happened before in the workplace. It looks like there is more to it than what meets the eye."

“I wish we had more details. From what we know, it’s hard to make a decision based on whether it’s consensual or not in the workplace, which we know has happened before in the workplace. It looks like there is more to it than what meets the eye.”

The full story may never become public, and it will leave fans wondering for a long time what exactly happened with Udoka and his reported relationship. The situation is terrible for the team as it has totally cast a shadow on their preparations for the season. Jaylen Brown is the ultimate professional, though, and the team will find a way to come together and perform when the season begins.
