Jimmy Butler has earned his spot among the NBA’s best players with years of consistent production on the Miami Heat.

Butler has a proven arc as a playoff performer compared to the numbers he puts up in the regular season. That’s why the Heat are scary opponents for any top seed in the East. Butler has been in inspired form recently and has explained it’s because he’s started trying after the All-Star break.

“They been asking, ‘When am I gonna start playing for real?’ This when I start, after All-Star break, man.”

Since the All-Star break, Jimmy Butler has averaged 26.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. That is an improvement on his season’s numbers as he has averaged 22.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in totality this year.

If Butler continues to rise in the playoffs and has solid production from Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, no top-seed in the East will want to face Miami.

Miami Heat Looking To Be Giant Killers

The Miami Heat are out of the race to be a top-4 seed in the East, with the Cleveland Cavaliers currently 6.5 games ahead of them with just 8 games left this season for the Heat. They can still usurp the 5th-seeded New York Knicks that sits just 1.5 games ahead of them right now. The Heat are currently 6th with a 40-34 record.

If the Heat ends the season as the sixth seed, they’ll face one of the East favorites in the first round in either Philadelphia or Boston. If they can cause a massive upset, they’ll then have to go against the winner of the 2-7 matchup, that’ll like be the No. 2 seed. Similarly, they then may have to go up against the 1 seed in the ECF.

As the 6th seed, a miracle run for the Heat may require them to be Boston, Philly, and Milwaukee. It’s going to be a tough road, but playoff Butler is going to give it his all.
