JJ Redick is fast becoming one of the most highly-rated NBA analysts around. He has butted heads with Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo, and Stephen A. Smith many times.

He continues to make his points, and he recently called Stephen A. out for not being fair to LeBron James.

Stephen A. Smith said that LeBron James not making it to the NBA Finals would be a ‘stain’ on his career, something JJ Redick had a solid rebuttal to.

“You said it would be a stain on LeBron’s career. A stain on his career to some degree. But was Michael Jordan going 37-45 two straight seasons with the Wizards, do we look back at that as some sort of stain on his career? Do we?,” JJ Redick asked Stephen A. Smith.

He went on to point out that Stephen A. Smith keeps shifting the goalposts when it comes to LeBron James. He said, “I get what you’re saying, I think we keep moving the goalposts, and I think you do it more than anybody else in terms of LeBron’s career. Yes, you do.”

JJ Redick had a serious point in this conversation, it does seem like LeBron James is often expected to do things no one else has ever done and be perfect at the same time. The questions asked of him are as intense or even more so than of any great that went before him. And the media contributes to the narratives, meaning JJ Redick had a valid point when questioning Stephen A. Smith.

Can LeBron James’ Last Two Seasons Be Equated To Michael Jordan’s Time With The Washington Wizards?

LeBron James on pure stats is miles ahead of where Michael Jordan was in the finals two seasons of their careers. If LeBron misses the playoffs then these seasons will have been pretty similar, considering that MJ played with the Wizards roughly 18-19 years after he was initially drafted into the NBA.

And for those that blame LeBron James for everything that went wrong with Russell Westbrook, Michael Jordan’s treatment of Kwame Brown was quite horrible as well. MJ was hardly creating a winning culture in Washington then, so it’s wild to not use those things in an argument against him. Ultimately, LeBron James’ longevity is just miles ahead and the media needs to acknowledge that.
