Joe Smith was the first overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft for the Golden State Warriors, but his career did not experience the success typically expected of such a prominent first pick.

The power forward from Maryland recently gave an interview to Vlad TV, where he discussed his first marriage and revealed that he had other children with other women during his marriage.

“We had two kids biologically; she (Yolanda Smith) already had a daughter when we met, and I adopted her. The rest of my kids I had… during that marriage.”

Smith admitted to having four children while his marriage with Yolanda Smith was ongoing. Based on what he said, he has two children with Yolanda, and four kids with other women during his marriage with Smith. Also, he added that he adopted a daughter from Yolanda when he met her.

It was recently revealed that Smith only learned about his wife Kisha Chavis’ OnlyFans, news that did not sit well with the former NBA player. Since the scandal, the former Warriors player is reportedly living in a hotel.

Joe Smith’s Wife

Currently, Joe Smith is wedded to Kisha Chavis. The details surrounding their initial encounter remain undisclosed. Nevertheless, as per available information, the couple became engaged in 2016 after several years of dating.

Their nuptials took place on the shores of St. Croix in 2018. The ceremony was attended by their close circle of friends and was featured on the reality TV show ‘Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.’

In the early 2000s, Joe was previously wedded to Yolanda Smith. Unfortunately, their union concluded in 2011 when Yolanda initiated divorce proceedings upon discovering Joe’s infidelity with another woman.

Joe Smith’s Net Worth

Despite amassing over $60 million during his professional basketball career, Joe Smith currently navigates a paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle.

In 1995, the Golden State Warriors compensated him $2.4 million for his rookie season, followed by an additional $6 million for almost two more seasons with the team until 1998.

Although Joe had the potential to earn $86 million by signing with another team, he entered an illicit agreement with the Timberwolves in 1999, earning approximately $4.7 million over two seasons with them.

In his later years, Joe experienced fluctuations in his salary, but he never received less than $1 million. Additionally, he augmented his income through brand endorsements and merchandise sales.

Known for his once extravagant lifestyle, Joe now leads a remarkably modest life after facing financial hardship. According to a CNBC report in 2018, Joe found himself in debt, totaling around $160,000.

Just a few days ago, Joe Smith revealed he lost $60 million after Latrell Sprewell choked Warriors Head Coach.
