Joel Embiid is confident that the Philadelphia 76ers are yet to play their best basketball this season. The Cameroonian big man is thriving this campaign, becoming a solid candidate for the 2022 MVP award, among other superstars around the league.

The Sixers currently rank 5th in the Eastern Conference, trying to break into the top 4, and Joel won’t rest until he takes the squad to the highest positions on the leaderboard.

After a commanding 111-99 win over Boston Celtics on Friday night, the center reflected on the Sixers’ current moment, stating they aren’t where they want to be yet, but things are looking very promising for them. He knows things are complex, especially in a conference with big teams like the Nets, Bucks, Heat and Bulls.

“I feel pretty good. I don’t think we’ve played our best basketball yet. We still got a long way to go. We’re missing guys that could really help us. There’s really no urgency to change anything. We got everything we need.”

Joel Embiid on the state of his team:

Even without Ben Simmons, Philadelphia is having a good season so far. They are still fighting for a top-4 spot, which isn’t so hard to achieve. Embiid has carried this team to this point and he wants to keep going up.

They have a big test tonight when the Miami Heat host them at FTX Arena in a very interesting clash. Embiid, as usual, will try to dominate his opponents and keep showing he’s one of the best players in the league right now.

The 2021 NBA MVP runner-up averages 27.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in 30 matches. He’s shooting 48.1% from the field and 37.6% from beyond the arc.
