The Los Angeles Clippers have secured a talented point guard to compete for the 2023 NBA championship in a stacked Western Conference. After getting bought out by the Houston Rockets, John Wall entered the free market, with several teams seemingly trying to acquire his services.
It was reported that the Los Angeles Clippers were his preferred destination and now that the free agent started, Wall confirmed those rumors. The former All-Star is now joining Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in Los Angeles to try to compete for a championship with one of the most complete teams around the league.
Klutch Sports has officially announced that the point guard is joining the Clippers on a two-year, $13.2 million deal, creating a Big 3 with the aforementioned Leonard and George.
This is a good addition for the Clippers, who couldn’t do much last season with their superstar. This season, with Kawhi back, PG ready to go, Wall returning to the top level and a group of players that can show up whenever the team needs them, the Clips look ready to make some noise around the West.
Some people, including Draymond Green, think that the Clippers are the biggest threat for the 2022 NBA champions Golden State Warriors. This team looks incredibly dangerous on paper, and they have one of the best coaches in the league. If they can get things going without suffering any setback, we could see the other Los Angeles team making a deep playoff run and aspiring to win a title.
