Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Jordan Poole is happy to have veteran Andre Iguodala back in the team’s mix ahead of the new season. The shooting guard will now suit up in what will be his 19th season in the NBA.

The 38-year-old’s return will mean the team will fill its 14th slot on the roster. He also confirmed that this will be his final season. Poole, on his part, in a video interview, shared his excitement to have a familiar face in the locker room.

Talking to ABC’s Chris Alvarez in a one-on-one ahead of the team’s departure to Tokyo for a two-game preseason skirmish against the Washington Wizards.

“Andre is my guy, he’s going to be great, no matter what. It’s so great to have him back, so happy for him. He’ll continue to teach the young guys, give us a lot of help, and his experience will help us in another title run.”

Warriors GM Bob Myers Keen On Retaining Jordan Poole’s Services

Much of the discussion about Golden State’s offseason was about how they would approach the contract extensions of some of their key names: Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Poole.

Poole was one of the breakout performers for the Warriors last season averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 76 games. He is up for a contract extension this season and will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

However, the financial blips will play a major role when it comes to the future of these three players. Per an ESPN report, Myers was keen on retaining all of them.

“We want all of those guys. Can we get all of them? I don’t know,” Warriors general manager Bob Myers said at a press conference. “It depends on what the money ends up being. What they ask is what we can end up doing. We’re not at a point to make those decisions yet.”

The Warriors start their title defense by taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in a home fixture on opening night on October 18.
