Kanye West Says The NBA Is A Modern-Day Slave Ship

Kanye West has always had a lot of leverage and influence in the NBA community. He’s one of the most talented and disruptive hip-hop artists of all time and clearly has some unique views on the world and everything that’s going on lately.

That’s why it didn’t come as a surprise to see him stealing most of the headlines for the wrong reasons last night, as he had a blunt and controversial statement regarding the current state of things, even going as far as to call the NBA a modern-day slave ship:

“I need to see everybody’s contracts at Universal and Sony. I’m not gonna watch my people be enslaved. I’m putting my life on the line for my people. The music industry and the NBA are modern-day slave ships. I’m the new Moses,” Kanye tweeted.

This isn’t the first time that Kanye has been in the spotlight for his antics on social media. In fact, not so long ago, he shockingly claimed that he was going to run for President of the United States, even putting together a rally where he got pretty emotional.

It’s been rumored that Kanye has struggled with his mental health lately, which would make sense judging by these kinds of comments of him being ‘the new Moses’.

Moreover, Kanye is a usual guest at major NBA games and he’s even performed at the halftime show, so it’s pretty odd to see him call out the Association like that. Hopefully, there’s nothing going on with him and this is another example of his desire to challenge the status quo.
