Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves had an embarrassing performance last night, as they completely crumbled in the second half against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Timberwolves started the game off hot, but cooled off significantly in the second half of the game, blowing a 26-point lead and losing Game 3, something fans made fun of them for. The Timberwolves were abysmal, with one stat highlighting their woes.

Karl-Anthony Towns had a pretty poor game last night. He scored just 8 points last night and didn’t crack double digits in any statistical category. In fact, Towns had just 4 shot attempts throughout the game, making 3 of them. In comparison, he had 5 personal fouls, meaning that he actually had more fouls in the game than he had shot attempts. It was truly a poor night for the elite shooting big man.

Towns and the Timberwolves looked incredible in their first game against the Memphis Grizzlies. But that form seems to have dissipated, as the Grizzlies have looked in control in their last two games. Memphis has one of the best young teams in the league, and many expect them to make a pretty deep run in the playoffs this year. But if Towns keeps doing what he does against Ja, that might be difficult.

One fan shared some footage from Game 2 of the Grizzlies-Timberwolves game, which showed that Karl-Anthony Towns was sticking his leg out intentionally while setting screens to try and trip Ja Morant. One fan was outraged, noting that KAT could have caused significant damage to Morant and that his actions were not in keeping with the spirit of the game. As of now, we don’t know if KAT was doing it on purpose.

Towns was talking a lot of trash during the game, which seemed to backfire by the final buzzer. The Timberwolves will be hoping to try and get a win on their home court in Game 4. If Minnesota fails to win that game, it will be very difficult for them to make a comeback and reach the second round of the playoffs.
