Michael Jordan is a hero to nearly every NBA star that is currently in the league. Even if they’re too young to have watched him play live in his prime, the legend of MJ and his achievements is what nearly every player aspires to. So when he showed up at All-Star Weekend for the 75th Anniversary Team event, everyone wanted to get whatever little time they could get with the GOAT himself.
Jordan was seen interacting with LeBron James and others that were on the team with him, but also with youngsters like Luka Doncic and Karl-Anthony Towns. The interaction between KAT and MJ was caught on camera, with many wondering what exactly Jordan had to say to the Timberwolves star. “When Michael came to the arena, he came late because he was at that NASCAR thing. He walked in, he was trying to tell me something, he knew what he wanted to say. He was trying to tell me that and they were trying to rush him because of the 75, they were trying to get everyone organized and trying to get the photo done.
“MJ looks at me and he goes, ‘I remember what you did to my team, I seen what you did to my team. F**k you!’. I said, ‘Yeah, I like this energy, I like this energy.’ That’s why you see me at the end of the video saying, ‘Yeahhhh’. And the funniest part is that MJ is so competitive that he looks back at me and goes ‘Yeahhhhh’. It was so funny, I was crying.”
Michael Jordan is the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, and KAT had a monster night against them earlier in the month. The Minnesota big man put up 39 points and 15 rebounds in an overtime win against Charlotte. It makes sense that MJ remembers that, his competitiveness is a huge part of his personality. If KAT wants more interactions with the GOAT, he’ll likely have to keep performing at that level and also enjoy some playoff success soon.
