When the Los Angeles Lakers signed Kendrick Nunn last season to a 2-year, $10 million deal, it was seen as a solid acquisition by the franchise. Nunn had averaged 15 points per game in his 2 seasons with the Miami Heat and he would provide the Lakers with a solid scoring option off the bench who could be effective off the ball, but he never even got a chance to show what he is capable of.

Nunn would suffer a bone bruise in his right knee in October last year and while it was only supposed to keep him out for multiple weeks, he ended up missing the whole season. It was just another disappointment in what was a series of disappointments for the franchise in 2021-22 and they are hoping for an uptick in their fortunes this upcoming season. Nunn, who picked up his player option in the offseason, is 100% healthy now and during a recent interview, he spoke on what Lakers fans should expect from him on the court.

via Lakers Nation:

“They should expect consistency”, Nunn said during an interview with Spectrum SportsNet. “That’s my number one thing. Coming in, night in, night out, and bring and be consistent on both ends of the floor.”

That is exactly what new coach Darvin Ham and the fans would want from him too and here’s hoping he can do just that. Nunn is in some ways, like a new signing for the Lakers as he never played last season, but the team might be looking to ship him off, for the simple reason that he has some value around the league.

An NBA insider claimed that Nunn could be a part of a package that would help land Kyrie Irving in LA and, with LeBron still badly wanting Kyrie on the team, it is a possibility that Nunn might not be on the roster. If he does end up staying, though, then that mindset of his will endear him to coaches and fans alike.
