24-year-old Donovan Mitchell is one of the best young players in the game. In just three seasons in the NBA, he has averaged 22.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4 assists per game on 43% shooting.

In fact, his performance has been so impressive, it has ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins comparing him to Dwyane Wade.

Here’s what he said to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy.com on Monday:

“The way he moves through the lane, how crafty he is even with the walk with the shoulders and all. It’s something about his whole swag it’s D-Wade-ish. When you look at D-Wade when he first came in, he was dunking everything, he was super athletic. That’s who Donovan Mitchell is. Chase down blocks & all that? Yeah. He IS the modern day D-Wade,” Kendrick Perkins explained.

Since being drafted 13th in the 2017 Draft, Mitch has been the shining star of the Jazz, leading them to relevance in the West behind his insane talent.

In a lot of ways, he is similar to Wade. Both were good right away, both are known for their athleticism, and both are fighters who strive to bring their best in any situation.

Of course, Mitchell has yet to find the same success Wade achieved during his career, and it’s still a mystery if he will ever get there.

But, at least for now, you have to like where this kid is headed.
