The world will get its eyes on ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ this week. A non-canon sequel to the 1996 classic with Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes, LeBron James will take part in this movie as the lead basketball icon. His mission is to team up with the Tune Squad to defeat the Goon Squad. However, this won’t be so easy, because the Goon Squad has NBA Stars like Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson among their ranks. But it appears one former NBA star and a teammate of LeBron’s is unhappy that he didn’t get a call to be in the movie.

Former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins was giving his thoughts on various Twitter items on a segment for ESPN’s SportsNation. When one Tweet about the new Space Jam movie came his way, Perkins was quick to make his point. He told LeBron James and the cast and crew of ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ that he was happy for them, but asked why he wasn’t asked to be a part of the movie. Perkins believes that he has the versatility to play a new character in the franchise.

“Shoutout to LeBron James and Space Jam 2 and all of that. Right now, I don’t give a damn! Here’s why – Ay Bron, why couldn’t I have a role in Space Jam 2, have a part in the movie. I could have been a character, a new character! Take a look, Carry On!”

Obviously, Big Perk’s comments are in jest, as he and LeBron James share a strong relationship. The two shared the court during AAU tournaments and were part of the historic 2003 NBA Draft class. Before Perkins called time on his career in the NBA, he was a member of the 2018 Cleveland Cavaliers, which included and was led by LeBron James. To this day, Perkins always has great praise for James, so there will be no hard feelings about this sly question.
