Kevin Durant couldn’t hide his excitement about his team after playing alongside Kyrie Irving and James Harden for the first time during the Nets’ 147-135 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Everybody was ready to see the newly-formed Big 3 going at it against the Cavs but it was Collin Sexton who stole the show and ruined the night for the Nets.

That didn’t change anything for KD, who expressed his happiness for this union in Brooklyn. After the game was over, the 2x NBA champion talked to the media, stating that the trio played really well and although they couldn’t win their first game together, KD is excited for the future of the franchise.

“It felt right. It felt perfect. It felt like we belong together; like this journey together is going to be fun. Tough first start, it was an up and down game for us but I like where we are.”

The Nets are considered the favorites to come out of the East this season and even though they suffered their first setback this campaign, Irving, Durant and Harden are expected to do big things this campaign. In recent days, people have explained that some teams like the Sixers or Celtics could surprise the Nets or that the Lakers have the advantage over the New Yorkers, but KD knows his team has everything to be successful.

The season is still young and they have a lot of time to learn how to play with each other, so the future looks very bright for the Nets.
