Kevin Durant is currently in the headlines for his trade request last month. Durant shocked the NBA community with his request to get traded out of the Brooklyn Nets after just three seasons.

For the last few weeks, almost every major news story has been around the future of KD. Despite that, fans are no closer to knowing Durant’s future destination than they were a few weeks ago.

Amidst all the chaos around his future, Durant is yet to openly talk about his trade request. But that doesn’t mean that the Nets superstar has completely gone AWOL. In fact, KD’s recent tweet about Kobe Bryant went viral.

KD and Kobe were part of the amazing Team USA that went on to easily win the gold medal in the 2012 Olympics. After winning the gold medal, the team proceeded to pose for one of the most iconic pictures of all-time.

Upon seeing the clip of the team posing for the picture, KD got emotional when he saw Kobe trying to get a perfect pose.

Kobe was an idol for several superstars who are currently active in the NBA. They grew up watching him dominate the league and dreamed of doing the same one day. Kevin Durant is currently someone who has lived up to the hype.

KD has even gone as far as saying that Kobe was like a god-like figure to him. While Bryant was certainly a bigger legend than Durant, he still respected KD’s game. Kobe once explained why Durant was the hardest player to guard for him.

Most NBA fans can relate to KD’s tweet as they have missed the Mamba since his sad demise in 2020. The impact that Bryant had on people’s lives was simply amazing, and he will forever have a place in fans’ hearts.
