Kevin Durant stays active on Twitter, perhaps more than any other NBA player, let alone a superstar. KD is unfiltered on the platform, engaging with everyone from fellow players to media members, and even with the fans. While this accessibility is great in a way, it also leads to a lot of criticism for him when he tweets something without constructing his thoughts in an orderly manner.
Durant has been called everything from weak and sensitive to a snake, especially since his move to the Golden State Warriors in 2016. The hate had lessened a little during his initial days with the Nets, but following his trade request, the trolls have returned with a vengeance.
And while Durant has never changed himself or how he behaves thanks to the criticism, it’s clear that he sees everything. When Jason Timpf, the host of the Hoops Tonight podcast, responded to a heckler about his stats, KD was quick to sarcastically admonish him.
According to twitter, you are officially soft, insecure, and an egotistical maniac for firing back at a 15 year old heckler. Goodness gracious, be a role model Jason

“According to twitter, you are officially soft, insecure, and an egotistical maniac for firing back at a 15 year old heckler. Goodness gracious, be a role model Jason.”
These are all things Durant has heard in the past when he has responded to people taking shots at him on social media. It’s clear that KD isn’t too thrilled with the things he hears about himself, and his comment, while being hilarious, seems to hold some truth in them.
People on social media have a general problem where the anonymity of the platform gives them the ability to say what they like with minimal consequences. Most players avoid this by staying away from social media, but Durant’s approach in calling it out isn’t necessarily an issue either. And in case someone doesn’t agree with how he goes about it, well, it’s unlikely that KD cares much about that, anyway.
