Kyrie Irving’s most recent spat with the media ended with him calling them “pawns” after they fined him for his “media boycott” that took place earlier this week.

They were harsh words by Irving and the internet has since been ablaze with reactions from people who have both defended and criticized the 6x All-Star.
In a recent chat with Cleveland sports writer Tom Withers, he took an opposing stance on the words of his former teammate, calling it disrespectful and divisive.
“Calling anybody a pawn is a sure sign of disrespect,” Love said. “I’m not a divisive person.”
#Cavs Kevin Love disagrees with former teammate Kyrie Irving’s stance on the media.

Since Kevin noted how he loves Kyrie, there doesn’t seem to be any resentment between the two — which is no surprise at all. But it’s clear that the Cavs star isn’t willing to defend Kyrie’s recent behavior in regards to how he’s handling the media.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the course of the season. Will Kyrie lighten his stance and smooth things over, or will he continue to shut out the media and risk further fines?
