Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole had a great night for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, dominating the Utah Jazz at Chase Center, getting closer to the 50-win mark with the win over a direct rival.

The Warriors duo had a walk against Rudy Gobert as the Frenchman was unable to do anything against Thompson and Poole, who finished with 36 and 31 points, respectively.

Gobert has received a lot of criticism for his inability to guard perimeter players and he clearly struggled against Klay and Poole. Following the match, even the Splash Brother criticized Rudy’s defense, saying that he didn’t make the best decision when he tried to stop him or his teammate.

“It’s not very smart,” Warriors star Klay Thompson told ClutchPoints. “I’m not going to say I’m not explosive to the rim. I just need to chop my feet and rise up when I have that much space, and I did not let missed shots discourage me tonight.”

Rudy is a big candidate to win the DPOY award, but many people have criticized him for not being able to guard all positions on the court. Players like Draymond Green and Marcus Smart have been vocal about this, which has earned Gobert more criticism.

Thompson and Poole saw big opportunities on Saturday night and took advantage of them. Klay said it wasn’t the best move for the player or his team and that’s absolutely true. The Warriors are now one game away from a 50-win season, and they can achieve that tonight against the Sacramento Kings.

As for the Jazz, things don’t get easier for them. They’ll try to bounce back against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, but that’s another inspiring team that will try to beat them.
