This season, the Golden State Warriors kicked things off in probably the worst way possible. Before playing a single minute of regular-season action, the Dubs were facing a real crisis involving two of their franchise players.

What initially started as trash talk between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole eventually led to a full-on physical altercation that saw Green make contact with his own teammate. Of course, the Warriors tried their best to handle the situation, but some believe there are still some lingering side effects.

Klay Thompson Gets Brutally Honest About Draymond Green Scandal

Speaking to Malika Andrews in an exclusive interview, Warriors star Klay Thompson dropped his own perspective on the ordeal and shared his belief that the whole thing may have been blown out of proportion.

“It’s unfortunate it got leaked but those guys are all brothers, Jordan and Draymond. I knew, with time, that it would heal all wounds. I know winning and just having fun cures all,” Thompson said. “We’re playing that brand of Warriors basketball again and once we continue to do so, I think it will just be a blip in the story.”

Klay went on to reveal a conversation he had with his father (who played in the league for 12 years), who had a lot to say about the infamous Draymond punch:

“He tried to downplay it, Klay explained. “He played in the 80s, they were fighting each other every other game. I’ve seen Larry Bird have to fight off three 76ers once. Dr. J and him choking each other… He’s from a different generation. I was worried at first, I said ‘I hope these guys can be friends again.’ He’s like ‘Klay, I used to see this all the time back in my day.’ Teammates get into fights all the time. If it’s a brotherhood, just put it behind you.”

Those are certainly wise words from Mr. Thompson, but it’s not always as simple as he made it out to be. In the case of Green and Poole, the fight didn’t just happen, it was made public for the whole world to see.

For his part, Draymond has been trying his best to move on as if nothing happened, but it’s getting more and more obvious his relationship with Poole is not in a great spot right now.

As a team, the Dubs haven’t looked so hot either. But if we are to believe the words of Klay Thompson, his squad shouldn’t be down for too much longer.
