Klay Thompson returned from his horrific injuries spectacularly this season, coming back and immediately being a part of the Golden State Warriors’ incredible run to winning their 4th NBA championship with their current core. The shooter took some time to get into the swing of things and find his rhythm, but he was still a key contributor to the team throughout the playoffs.

Klay was in even better form during the championship parade, seemingly in the mood to party hard and getting caught in several hilarious moments throughout the day. Thompson is someone that’s known for being able to have a good time off the court, but he opened up in-depth about how that has changed a bit since his injuries (via Sportskeeda):

“I wasn’t the biggest one on the yoga but I started getting into my flexibility and my nutrition kicked up, and my lifestyle just to be as healthy as possible became the most important to me.

“I’m not gonna lie before all this happened, I would eat what I wanted to eat, a glass of wine before games, beers, whatever. Even go out late at times, you know? Late dinners whatever, and recover and be good. I was in my mid-20s and I felt, I hate to say it, but invincible at times.

“But then when you have some things that don’t go your way, that’s when you learn, that’s what I learned the most how much I loved it to be honest.”

The fact that he was able to perform the way he was during his career, despite taking his conditioning a little less seriously than he might be now, is a testament to how much natural talent the Warriors man possesses. As he continues to grow older, though, the perspective that his injuries will have given him on his health will likely ensure that Klay can stay healthy and keep performing at a high level for many years to come.
