Michael Jordan’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’ is less than a week away, and we’ve gotten to know more details about the upcoming docuseries. One of the most famous faces we’ll see in the documentary is Kobe Bryant, who tragically died last January 26.
According to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic, Kobe completed his participation in the documentary about a week before he passed away in a tragic helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna and seven other people. Deitsch got very valuable info from the director of the film, Jason Hehir, who reflected on the things Kobe said there and are very similar to what Michael Jordan said at his memorial services in February.
For the Kobe Bryant fans, he was interviewed for the doc and the scene/interview he appears in was completed just one week before his death. https://t.co/HqwZhTB7wB pic.twitter.com/z068fImHaL

The filmmakers finished a scene with Kobe Bryant in mid-January, about a week before Bryant’s death. Said Hehir: “To hear Kobe in that scene say he’s (Michael) like my big brother and then to have Michael give that famous speech that he gave at Kobe’s memorial service, saying, ‘Rest in peace, little brother,’ it just shows you how genuine that relationship was between the two of them. That scene is so much more poignant now and it was such a cool scene to begin with.”
It’s never easy to talk about this, but Kobe’s words are the biggest proof of the thigh relationship he had with MJ. They shared a lot of similarities and Kobe even adopted Michael’s moves for his game, so you know they were really close.
The documentary is set to debut next Sunday and every NBA fan is waiting to see what it will bring.
