Kyrie Irving has already made a visible impact on the Dallas Mavericks, giving the team a lot of flow and movement. Even though the results haven’t been the best for the Mavs, everybody within the organization is confident that Kyrie’s addition will help them a lot, especially this season when Luka Doncic has carried a big burden.
Irving has been very vocal during his first days with the Texan team, showing his admiration for Luka Doncic, admitting that he feels wanted in Dallas, contrary to what happened in Brooklyn, and more.
This will be Irving’s first time playing in the Western Conference, which got a lot better ahead of the trade deadline. With his move and Kevin Durant going to Phoenix, the West looks spectacular right now, but it’ll also be incredibly competitive for every team.
Kyrie Irving Is Ready For Competition In The Western Conference
Irving knows this is a big challenge and he’s ready for all of that. Talking with Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News, Kai revealed that he’s ready for all the smoke and feels confident about his team’s chances to win it all.
I feel very strongly about our ambitions to winning a championship. I can sit up and say we’re going to win one and put it out there, but we have all these great players in the way, and that’s the beauty of this game, that’s the beauty of this sport, that’s the beauty of this profession.
Kyrie admitted that the West is loaded after all these moves, and he wants to go against everybody who gets in the middle of him and his goal for this season. Irving knows it won’t be easy, but he’s not backing down from any challenge. He wants to stay in the West for a while (pay attention, Lakers fan), and see what he can do alongside Luka this season.
