Kyrie Irving is a player no one in the NBA is likely to try and predict. His erratic nature has become his calling card. Many see Irving as being quite unpredictable. However, following his latest controversy dying down, the attention has been blissfully off of Irving for over a month. In that time, the Brooklyn Nets have thrived as well, playing better than any other team in the league.

Kyrie Irving‘s performances have been so good, fans have been discussing an All-Star berth for the point guard. And the Nets owner himself recognizes Kyrie’s value, although fans have been quick to remind him that Irving almost left the Nets multiple times over disagreements. And it’s hard to imagine that after his contract runs out, Kyrie Irving will stay a Net after all that has happened already.

Kyrie Irving Has Once Again Been Linked With A Possible Move To The Lakers In Free Agency

Kyrie Irving is one of the best in the business when it comes to pure talent and production. But there is a certain amount of baggage that comes with him as well. Now, if the Lakers end up winning a championship this season, things might change about Irving moving on, but anything short of that, and it feels like he’d be gone. Some expect Kevin Durant to renew his trade request as well, and as an anonymous NBA executive told NJ’s Adam Zagoria, Kyrie could be headed to the Lakers.

“Every team knows he is going to bring baggage,” one NBA executive said. “My guess is he heads to the Lakers this summer.”

The Los Angeles Lakers themselves have a tenuous connection with their current roster and would undoubtedly welcome any player even approaching Kyrie’s quality onto their roster. LeBron James is currently expected to shoulder the entire burden with Anthony Davis out, and if the Lakers want to keep him, then they have to be looking at bringing in someone like Irving in free agency.

There has been consistent chatter about Kyrie becoming a Laker, and the scenario has become easier and easier to imagine. While the Nets and their mercurial point guard are focused on the job at hand, for now, there is no way of telling what will happen once the season comes to an end and the future needs to be dealt with once again.
