Kyrie Irving shared how the system, despite its evolution, treats people differently because of their race.

The Dallas Mavericks guard was on a story-sharing spree on Instagram and one of them was about biracial twins Lucy and Maria Aylmer.

A shocking video that’s circulating on social media is the possible disparity between the twins, more so for Maria, who would be treated differently by the US healthcare system.

Kyrie Irving Posts A Shocking Video About Black And White Twin Sisters And How The System Treats Them Differently Because Of The Race

With one of the sisters having fair skin with ginger hair and the other having darker skin with curls, it is hard to believe these two girls are twins and that was one of the news that did the rounds in 2015.

“No one ever believes we are twins. Even when we dress alike, we still don’t look like sisters, let alone twins. Friends have even made us produce our birth certificates to prove it,” Lucy said, according to The Mirror.

And one of the influencers on Instagram explained how color would be a major factor in treating either of the sisters if they were to need medical attention at some point in their lives.

Irving was one of the personalities reacting to the post and surely will have his strong opinions on the matter. With discrimination to race still prevalent in society, the example of the twins is perfect to understand why the issue must be eradicated.

One of the more vocal personalities against societal issues such as discrimination and lack of empowerment in the Black community, Irving’s post on his social media platform is one of his ways to educate the world about the still torridly-present problems in the so-called “modern-day educated society.”

Everyone’s Equal

Editorializing a bit, let’s take a moment to understand why color disparity must stop. For starters, all of us were created equal, and that takes precedence over discriminating individuals based on their race and religion.

What makes Irving point this out is the still-existing case of racial discrimination against the Black community, despite the growing calls for it to come to a halt.

One can only hope that the world becomes a better place with discrimination coming to an end. And on that note, massive respect for Irving for his firm stance toward racism.
