Kyrie Irving is one of the most spectacular point guards in the sport. He is an electric three-level scorer with elite ballhandling ability. Over the course of the 2021-22 regular season, Kyrie Irving put up 27.4 PPG, 4.4 RPG, and 5.8 APG.

The Brooklyn Nets managed to make the playoffs as the 7th seed this season, after advancing through the play-in tournament. Their first-round opponent is the Boston Celtics, Kyrie Irving’s former team.

During the game, Kyrie Irving was caught on camera showing a Celtics fan the middle finger after hitting a tough basket over Jaylen Brown. It is unclear what provoked that sort of action from Kyrie Irving.

There is no doubt that Kyrie Irving and the city of Boston have a lot of history, with the point guard often receiving boos from fans at the TD Garden arena. Kyrie Irving notably left the Boston Celtics in 2019 free agency, to go team up with Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets. He has also done some things at the Celtics arena that some consider disrespectful, such as stepping on the Celtics logo after a big performance.

Based on the way the first game of the Boston Celtics-Brooklyn Nets series has gone, it could definitely be a tough series that goes all 7 games. The Brooklyn Nets aren’t a traditional 7 seed, as they have a star duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Both of those players are proven winners that have won at the highest level, and prior to the season, many considered the Brooklyn Nets a championship contender.

It remains to be seen if the Brooklyn Nets can end up upsetting the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics are a good defensive team and have a star duo of their own in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Kyrie Irving will definitely do his best to make an upset happen though, and he has been elite so far against the Celtics.
