The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been consistent at all this season, and they are clearly one of the teams that have underperformed this season. They were also recently on a 5-game losing streak.

Even though their performance recently has been subpar, the Los Angeles Lakers have managed to break their recent skid with a win against the Houston Rockets. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook both had triple-double performances against the Rockets. LeBron James finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists, while Russell Westbrook put up 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Lakers fans lauded the duo for their performance against the Rockets, and it’s certainly impressive that both players showed out in the same game. There is no doubt that this was a good way to break their losing streak, and hopefully, this is the start of better performances in the future for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers will need to play like this consistently. A team with LeBron James and Russell Westbrook should be able to hold down the fort until Anthony Davis returns, and when he returns, they will certainly be a better team. Russell Westbrook has notably been criticized in recent memory, and some analysts like Shannon Sharpe have blasted him for his turnovers and out-of-control play. There is no question that Russell Westbrook was key in helping the Los Angeles Lakers win today though, and perhaps this performance will silence some of the haters.

We’ll see if the Los Angeles Lakers can build on this, and any team with LeBron James has historically been able to figure it out. Some believe that they could figure things out in the future, and it would be unwise to count out a team with this much talent. Perhaps we’ll see that happen going forward, but the Lakers will need to continue winning to prove the critics wrong.
