Lakers Player Says Anthony Davis Will Go For The MVP In Upcoming Season

2 Min Read

Lakers big man Anthony Davis is a 7x All-Star, 4x All-NBA player, Olympic Gold Medalist, and newly-crowned NBA Champion. Is he aiming to add MVP to that list?

According to his teammate, Jared Dudley, that’s one thing the superstar will be going for in the upcoming campaign.

Over his eight-year career, AD has been a consistently great player. In New Orleans, he led them to the playoffs multiple times, averaging 23.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game on 51.7% shooting.

Obviously, with the Lakers, he was finally able to add some hardware to his finger, winning the Chip in a season that was extremely chaotic.

With LeBron James nearing 36 years old, it certainly seems likely that the Lakers will lean more on Davis to carry them both offensively and defensively. Considering he has been an MVP candidate in the past, it’s more than plausible he could win it in the upcoming campaign.

Of course, it means he’ll have to outperform guys like James Harden, Luka Doncic, Damian Lillard, and Kawhi Leonard — which will not be easy to do.

Davis, 27, recently signed a five-year, $190 million contract that will keep him in LA through at least the 2024 season.
