Lamar Odom Got A Tattoo Of Kobe Bryant’s Face After Seeing Him In ‘Vivid’ Dreams

Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant were quite close, the two played together for 7 seasons on the Los Angeles Lakers and Odom was an instrumental role player in helping win Kobe and the Lakers win two championships at the turn of the decade. The two were understandably close, and Bryant’s tragic and untimely passing was a difficult time for Odom much as it was for the rest of the NBA.

And it seems that it still haunts Odom, who revealed to Page Six Style that he got a tattoo of Kobe’s face done after he dreamt about him numerous times during his time in the Celebrity Big Brother house. Odom explained that the dreams were vivid, with Bryant talking to him about the afterlife, among other things.

“It’s just his face. It’s on my neck. When I was in the ‘CBB’ house I dreamed [of] him four or five times,” Odom told Page Six Style over Zoom. “They were really vivid and easy to remember because he was talking to me in the dreams.”

“He just looked back to me and said, ‘LO, the afterlife ain’t what people make it up to be,’ and I just kinda woke up. I’m stunned and shocked, but it could mean a lot of things. It could’ve meant that he misses his people, misses his daughters. Could’ve meant maybe his job wasn’t finished yet. I woke up really emotional after that.”

The helicopter accident in 2020, led to the passing of Kobe, his daughter Gigi, and 7 other people that were aboard the aircraft. Losing loved ones and close friends is a terrible process and seeing them in dreams is something that happens to a lot of people. Odom’s tribute to his former teammate is a beautiful expression of the bond they had, and a good example of the fact that even if people pass away, they never truly leave us.
