LeBron James Flames “Clout Chasers” As Los Angeles Protests Continue

2 Min Read

As nationwide protests continue, thousands of people around the country are participating in #BlackoutTuesday, a day promoted by activists to observe, mourn and inspire change in the wake of the tragic death of George Floyd.

In the NBA community, many players and fans have joined the movement and spoken in support of the protesters. LeBron James has taken a personal stake in this and recently took to Twitter to flame and criticize someone who was using the cause as a way to generate clout.

LeBron has been very outspoken on these most recent social justice issues. As one of the most prominent figures and athletes of the black community, it’s to be expected.

The whole world is grieving at the injustices carried out by law enforcement and white supremacists lately. The death of George Floyd is just one of countless lives lost in the face of controversial tactics — attributed (whether accurate or not) to the racism and corruption of law enforcement and the system as a whole.

LeBron is doing his part to give a voice to people who feel oppressed. No matter your opinion on the situation at hand, one has to commend him for his bravery to stand up and fight for his people.
