LeBron James’ Agent, Rich Paul, Says Only The Brooklyn Nets Can Stop The L.A. Lakers This Season

With both LeBron James and Anthony Davis compromised, and the team currently sitting at a 2-game tie with the Phoenix Suns in Round 1, the lakers aren’t necessarily in an ideal position right now.

Still, Rich Paul has confidence that the defending Champs are in store for another long playoff run.

In a piece by The New Yorker, they revealed some of his ties to the team and his belief that only one opponent could possibly stop them from meeting their goals: the Brooklyn Nets.

“We started talking about the Lakers, who were in a slump. Paul brought up the Nets, saying that they were ‘the only team that can beat us,’” Chotiner wrote. “This sounded like a strangely partisan observation for an agent with clients across the N.B.A., especially after all the criticism he had received when bringing Anthony Davis to the Lakers. ‘I’ve got six guys on the team,’ he said, shaking his head. ‘C’mon.’”

Months after Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving took the floor together for the first time, the Nets traded for James Harden, forming one of the best star trios in modern NBA history.

For as good as the Lakers are, it’s going to be tough to stop the Nets from scoring, and it’s very possible their offensive fire-power will be enough to eliminate the Purple and Gold in a 7-game series.

Until then, all anyone can do is wait. Because so long as the Lakers have LeBron Raymone James, they have a way of beating anybody.
