The Los Angeles Lakers have secured their best player for two more years after LeBron James finally made a decision and agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Purple and Gold. A lot was said about James’ decision this offseason, but he made sure to shake off all those rumors and make it clear he’s not going anywhere.

With teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, and even Golden State Warriors linked with a move for the 4x NBA champion, the Lakers never stopped having the upper hand here, and now Bron is locked until the 2024/25 NBA season.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the King signed a maximum contract with the Lakers, staying there for the next three years. This would give him the chance to play with Bronny James once he made it to the league, but it’s still early to talk about that.

Sources: Four-time NBA champion LeBron James has agreed to a two-year, $97.1 million maximum contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, taking him under contract through the 2024-25 season.

This new deal will see LeBron playing with the Lakers at least until he’s 40. The deal has a player option for the 2024/25 season, which could allow him to play for a different team in the case Bronny gets drafted into the association.

LeBron keeps playing at the highest level, showing why he’s one of the best players in NBA history. This deal makes him the highest-paid player in NBA history, with $532 million in total career earnings.
