LeBron James isn’t going anywhere after signing a two-year, $97.1 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, putting all the speculation to rest, with the Purple and Gold securing their best player for at least one more year. The King is now ready to bounce back after two terrible seasons for the Lakers, keen to send a message to the rest of the league.

This extension makes him the highest-earner player in NBA history, but outside of that, James has bigger expectations, as he hopes to add more silverware to his collection. Right now, things look complicated with the struggling Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, but this extension proves that Bron hasn’t given up on the Lakers and is ready to fight back.

After Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN announced that Bron is staying with the Lakers through the 2024/25 NBA season, many fans had something to say, some trolling the 4x NBA champíon, and others hyping up this upcoming season for the Lakers.

Darvin Ham is the team’s new head coach, and many people have faith in him entering this next season. Still, they keep Russell Westbrook on the roster, which could hurt their chances of winning it all next year.

While the LeBron extension is great news for the Lakers, it’s obvious that they need more than this to actually challenge the Golden State Warriors and other candidates like the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, or Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference.

Things are getting more interesting at Crypto.com Arena, and keeping LeBron for the short and mid-term is a great sign that things could change very soon for the 17-time NBA champions.
