It is safe to say LeBron James is keeping himself busy during a rare extended off-season break. The King seems to have gone around the world, from the USA to the Maldives and, most recently, to France. He was in attendance for the Champions League final in Paris along with former teammate Kevin Love, to support Liverpool FC, a soccer team he owns a stake in.

LeBron and Love also took some time to head to Monaco to meet up with Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton who was there, of course, for the Monaco Grand Prix. Hamilton has previously expressed his admiration for James, and it was great to see the two of them hanging out together:

While there are definitely arguments for them being the GOATs in their respective sports, 2022 definitely has not been kind to either of them. Hamilton finds himself all the way down at 6th in the driver standings and has failed to a win a race so far as he has struggled with the Mercedes this year.

LeBron, meanwhile, endured a disappointing season with the Los Angeles Lakers, which ended with the team failing to even make the play-in tournament. The Lakers finished as the 11th seed in the Western Conference, which led to head coach Frank Vogel being fired. The Lakers then hired Darvin Ham as his replacement last week and LeBron seemed ecstatic with the hire.

The King will hope that Ham can devise a game plan that turns things around for a team that massively underperformed this season. LeBron isn’t getting any younger and the Lakers need to maximize their chances of winning a title while he is still performing at a high level. Both James and Hamilton have been written off somewhat considering how things have panned out this year, but history has shown us plenty of times that you can never count them out.
