The Los Angeles Lakers are far from what fans expected prior to the start of the season. Instead of dominating the league, the Lakers are barely maintaining a .500 record. While there are many contributors to this poor start, unarguably the biggest was the absence of LeBron James for most of the game.

Since LeBron returned to the squad, the purple and gold have been looking much better. They are playing at an elite level, which was on full display against the Detroit Pistons. LeBron and co. finished the game with 110-106 as they registered their 11th victory of the season.

In the stunning victory, the big three of the Lakers played absolutely brilliantly. It was good to see the team in their groove and hopefully, they will continue to do that in the future. NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins made sure to let people know about the consistency issues the team has been facing so far this season.

“Impressive… but they still have to do this more on a consistent basis! Carry the hell on…”

Apparently, LeBron James saw the tweet from Perkins and reacted to it in style. Of course, James agreed that the team needs to be consistent, everyone is aware of that.

“You’re absolutely right, totally agree with you! Carrying on with this in my hand as I type this.”

Although the Lakers still have a huge job ahead of them, realizing their flaws is step one. This way the team can make a better judgment about what they need to improve in their playing style to generate good results.

With most of the season still ahead of them, it is still not too late to turn the season around. But the biggest hurdle in their path will be injuries. Fans have already seen the impact of injuries to the Lakers last season and the initial games of this season as well.

The Lakers, especially LeBron needs to stay healthy for the remainder of the season and play at a consistent level. They can start that in their next fixture against the Sacramento Kings away from home this week.
