LeBron James finally broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record on Tuesday night, dropping 38 points on the Oklahoma City Thunder, although the Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t get the win. The King still had a good night and was all smiles after scoring that bucket that gave him the record.

Following the game, James showed his happiness after reaching another milestone in the NBA, stealing the show and recording another impressive performance this season. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar praised him after LeBron broke the record, and the King gave himself some flowers, self-proclaiming the NBA GOAT.

After the game was over and he had the chance to speak to reporters, James showed respect to those who came before him and inspired his terrific NBA career. Among those, he mentioned Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

LeBron James Mentions Michael Jordan And Kareem Abdul-Jabbar While Reflecting On His All-Time Scoring Record

James talked about his reaction to living this with so many people close to him in attendance, mentioning his family and all the things he did and lived with them, as well as those who helped him make it to the NBA.

“I had a moment when it happened, and I embraced that moment,” James said. “Seeing my family and friends, the people that’s been around me since I started this journey to the NBA, definitely very emotional right there.”

When he broke the record, LeBron used a fadeaway that looked flawless. Following the match, he was asked about it, with James talking about Jordan’s perfected fadeaway and Kareem’s memorable sky hook (13:52 mark).

“He has the most unguardable shot in NBA history, and unless you know how unguardable and how unique it is because nobody has even tried it. You have the fadeaway that MJ [Michael Jordan] perfected, a lot of guys have added to their games, so it’s a few shots in our game that’s unguardable, but there’s only one that nobody has ever tried to emulate, and if you add that to his longevity, it makes him one of the greatest players to play the game.”

LeBron once again made history, and a lot of people were there to see him do it. He was inspired by several legends of the game and now has surpassed almost all of them. The King is now convinced he’s the greatest of all time, and truth be told, it’s hard to argue against that claim.
