LeBron James is one of the best athletes the NBA has ever seen. And the amazing thing is that LBJ was a massive name before he even entered the league in 2003. As a high school player, James had already captivated audiences with his incredible talent and unreal explosive ability. Naturally, the expectations were high from the then 18-year-old dubbed ‘The Chosen One’, and he managed to fulfill if not exceed them.

During his senior year of high school, LeBron had to deal with an investigation into a Hummer that he was gifted. LeBron was cleared in that investigation and he responded to that trying time in his life by dropping 50 points in a game against Mentor High School and then following that up by scoring 52 points and matching the tally of his opponents, Westchester High School in the next game.

His incredible performances caught the attention of the national media, with SportsCenter doing a special on the man who would go on to become the No. 1 pick in the 2003 NBA draft. With a clip of that going viral recently, LBJ took to Twitter to talk reminisce about the time he was just an up-and-coming high school star.

“Wow it’s been a while since I’ve seen that footage. Weight of the world on the shoulders on #ThekidfromAKRON”

James was always expected to be great, if he hadn’t lived up to it, he might have gone down as arguably the biggest bust in the history of the game. Instead, he took the league by storm and has been among the best players, if not the best, in the NBA since he joined. This season may not have been ideal for James and his Lakers, but taking a look at his accomplishments and how far he has come must provide a great perspective for LeBron.
