To say that LeBron James is a great player is an understatement. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is one of the greatest players to ever do it, considered the GOAT by many fans around the world.

Bron’s skillset is incredible, and his basketball IQ and versatility have taken his game to the next level. He’s turning 37 today and hasn’t shown a sign of slowing down, challenging father time every time he steps on the court. Bron won his 4th NBA championship in 2020 and he’s still chasing that 5th ring that will improve his GOAT case.

He’s been compared to many legends of the game, as he can do plenty of things on the court. Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Magic Johnson are players who had similarities with LeBron, but The King recently claimed he never studied anybody’s game to improve his.

Many players have revealed they modeled their games after their idols, and LeBron has many of them, including Jordan and Orlando Magic legend Penny Hardaway. Yet, he tried to develop his own game instead of emulating what others priorly did, as he explained following the Lakers’ 104-99 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies (2:49).

“I’ve always respected the generation that came before me and I’ve always saluted the guys that set the stones for us to be here today. But I’ve never studied anybody’s game and throughout their career on what I can implement on myself. I’ve always had my own path and determination of my own grind. I literally put in the work every day either from a physical or mental or spiritual part. The game is always running through my veins and I’m thinking about ways I can continue to improve my game throughout the later stage of my career.”

LeBron is in his 19th season in the league, still going strong, and showing his longevity is something remarkable. He recently became the youngest player to reach the 36K points mark, and he’s aiming to surpass Karl Malone for the 2nd position of all time. He’s indeed something special. A player age 37 carrying a team like the Lakers, dropping several 30+ point games in the last couple of days, pushing himself to the next level night in and night out.

He developed his own game and that has worked just fine for him. Bron is a 4x NBA champion, 4x MVP, 4x Finals MVP, and more. Instead of following other players, he set the blueprint for the next generations.
