LeBron James may be rich and famous, but he doesn’t forget to appreciate the people he loves.

This Mother’s Day, James took it upon himself to give a shoutout to the special ladies in his life: his mother, Gloria, and wife, Savannah.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING w/o you 2! YELLING at the top of my lungs HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY my QUEEN’S!!

LeBron has always been a strong family man. Unlike a lot of celebrities today, he manages to avoid drama and controversy in his personal life.

His marriage with Savannah has been described as a model relationship, like something out of a storybook. Amazingly, the couple started dating back in High School and have been together ever since.

The story of how they first linked up all those years ago is pretty cool.

The couple met while she was a 16-year-old sophomore at Buchtel and he was a 17-year-old junior at rival St. Vincent-St. Mary. A mutual friend who’d transferred from SVSM to Buchtel told her that LeBron had asked for her phone number.

“I’m like, ‘Um, nope. I’ll take his number,’ ” remembers Savannah, who didn’t know much about the basketball phenom at the time. “One day I’m sitting around — I was probably bored or something — and I’m like, ‘Oh, I forgot! I have this number for this guy that I can call. He seemed interested, so let’s see.’ ”

Of course, LeBron is also famously close with his mother, Gloria. She raised him in Akron, Ohio by herself after getting pregnant at 16 years old. Even now that he’s become one of the most famous and successful athletes in the world, he continues to shower her in love and appreciation.

So, it’s pretty clear that LeBron loves his family and appreciates all the women who have helped to make his life what it is today. What an example it sets for us to do the same…
