Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers gives you the ultimate superstar status, especially if you have a starring role. That’s the case with Anthony Davis, who recently led the purple and gold to their 17th championship and must be larger than life in Hollywood right now.

Davis continues to climb the ladder as one of the most popular athletes in the world right now. That was in full display last night when he debuted in a commercial in the Super Bowl, a privilege not many people could ever brag about:

Most of his friends and family would be happy and proud of him. However, LeBron James isn’t like every other guy, so he joked about being jealous of him not telling him about that ad:

“Why am I just hearing about this?” James joked.“It’s a surprise bro, it’s a surprise. I want you to watch the game like, ‘Yo, you! You know what I’m saying?’, thank you for ruining it (to the reporters),” Davis replied.

It’s clear that the Los Angeles Lakers have something special right now. Their two biggest stars clearly get along perfectly and they’ve built a strong rapport on and off the court. That’s why it’s not surprising to see LeBron take his hat off to his teammate and laud him after making it to the mecca of advertising:

“If you got a commercial on Super Bowl Sunday, you are doing something right.”

Now, Davis and LeBron will look to steal even more headlines as they pursue their second straight NBA Championship, which will be easier said than done given how competitive the league is nowadays.
