The Dallas Mavericks made the headlines on Sunday after winning their first game of the season. Not only they won against a big rival like the Los Angeles Clippers but they did it in a great way. The Mavs went off on the Californians and had no mercy for them, breaking several records in the process.

In the end, Dallas won the game 124-73, to end the Clippers’ unbeaten season and get the first victory of their record. It was definitely something shocking to see but Luka Doncic knew that his team is capable of doing that and more. Luka went after critics following the Mavs’ impressive win over the Clips, claiming that these are the real Mavericks and that people were quick to judge them after losing their first two matches.

“We showed who we are. People judged us off the first two games of the season. It’s a long season, but we’ve got to keep going like that. We’ve got to play defense. That’s our specialty from now on.”

Of course, everybody in Dallas expects this victory to become the inspiration the Mavs need to face a season where they and their superstar are expected to do big things. Luka is ready to confirm he’s one of the best players on earth right now and the Mavs can’t wait to see him fulfill his whole potential.
