It has been an up-and-down season for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. After a slow start to the season, the Mavs are showing signs of life at the halfway point of the season.

With a 24-21 record, however, the Mavs still have a long way to go before they can be called title favorites.

As for Luka himself, he’s been all business from the jump in what has been a historically great season.

But ahead of their latest matchup against the Hawks, Doncic went viral for reasons that had nothing to do with basketball. Ahead of the matchup, Doncic was captured pulling up in a Batman-like tank with a huge smile on his face.

It’s a truly menacing way to arrive on the scene of a battle, but Doncic is worthy of the entrance. This season, with averages of 33.8 points, 9 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, Luka is unquestionably one of the best players in basketball.

It’s just a shame that the team that has been built around him isn’t nearly as potent.

Luka Doncic Urging Mavs To Make Trades Before The Deadline

Doncic has been doing everything for Dallas this season, and it has put him in the MVP conversation once again. For Luka, however, he’s more worried about the playoffs than anything else and wants to see his team improve their roster instead of wasting another opportunity.

“Sources said Doncic, who hasn’t shown a desire to be involved in personnel matters in the past, has strongly indicated he wants the Mavs to upgrade before the Feb. 9 trade deadline,” Tim MacMahon reported.

The Mavs are well aware of a modern NBA math problem: Unhappy stars who have only two guaranteed years remaining on their contracts have leverage if they’re looking to leave. For reference, see Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans or James Harden and the Houston Rockets.

It’s a lot easier said than done for Dallas to make a trade that actually moves the needle, but they have to give it a try for Doncic.

What he’s been doing this season, and really since the came into the league, is truly amazing and deserves to be rewarded with playoff success.

So far, the Mavericks haven’t done enough to help their superstar and the whole world has taken notice.
