Luka Doncic is already widely recognized as one of the most talented basketball players on the planet. He single-handedly led the Mavs to the Western Conference Finals before their eventual elimination to the Warriors, who would go on to win it all.

Luka Doncic played his best in the series, and his Mavs got farther than they ever have before, and there is a strong feeling he’ll do even better next season.

This past weekend, the young star broke the internet again when he was spotted playing an exhibition game for the Slovenian national team. As people were quick to point out, he looks to be in the best shape of his life.

Luka’s conditioning has long been one of the greatest criticisms of his game. After starting the 2021-22 campaign out of shape, he got blitzed with a firestorm of criticism.

It got to a point where even Luka himself could no longer deny he needed to be better.

Over the past two few seasons, Luka Doncic has gotten into the habit of starting the season extremely out of shape. In the latest report by Tim MacMahon, the young star was up to 260 pounds.

Following Dallas’ 3-point loss to the Nets on Tuesday, Doncic responded to the story.

“People are going to talk about it, yes or no,” said Doncic. “I know I’ve got to do better. I had a long summer. I had the Olympics, took three weeks off, and I relaxed a little bit. Maybe too much. I’ve just got to get back on track.”

In the end, Doncic avoided more heat by stepping up in the playoffs, but he might be able to do even more in the next season if he starts it off the right way.

Playing with Slovenia has done a good job of keeping him in shape and ready to go. But it will be up to Doncic to stay that way until the new season begins in October.
