The Golden State Warriors will be headed into the Sacramento Kings’ home court to try and take a 3-2 series lead to keep their championship defense run alive.

Malik Monk and Jordan Poole were getting shots up before the game while having a conversation. The only thing Monk can be heard saying is ‘Guard me’ as both players were seen smiling throughout the conversation. Poole can even be heard saying that he’s ready.

Poole isn’t having a good playoff run through the first four games. He is averaging 14.8 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds on 37.8% shooting from the field. Monk, on the other hand, has been more proficient, averaging 17.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists on almost 40% shooting from the field.

A Tense Game 5 In Sacramento

Through the opening quarter of the game, the Kings have had control so far. They came into the second quarter with a slender 3-point lead after a high-scoring first quarter from both teams. The Warriors have been a dismal road team all season long, so they’ll hope to steal at least one game on the road to win the series as the 6 seed.

De’Aaron Fox is playing admirably for someone with a broken finger, having put up 15 points already, with the game just 4 minutes into the second quarter. Stephen Curry isn’t far behind, currently sitting on 12 points on extremely accurate shooting. It won’t be easy for either team to outshoot the other, so it may come down to who locks up who at what time.

Malik Monk knows defense is going to be the deciding factor of the series and challenging Poole to lock him up shows he knows someone needs to be limited in order for one of the teams to win.
