Marcus Smart has backed Fred VanVleet in his rant against NBA referees, showing that not only the Toronto Raptors star is unhappy with the way some officials are doing their job.

The Boston Celtics didn’t say much when asked about his concerns with referees but used VanVleet to send a message.

“I don’t know if you guys seen the Fred VanVleet thing, but that’s all I’m gonna say… I’m gonna let Fred do all the talking.”

Things have become more complex for some players this season, with many voicing their opinion against some officials. A couple of months ago, LeBron James was fouled by Jayson Tatum in the final seconds of a game and completely lost it after the refs didn’t call a foul.

Others have been very careful with their words, as they don’t want to get fined by the NBA. The league has punished some players who complained about the refs, but this time, FVV is ready to take anything they throw at him.

Fred VanVleet Goes Off On Referees In NSFW Rant

Following the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Toronto Raptors game, the talented guard sent a message to the league and its officials, specifically naming one ref that he labeled as ‘terrible.’

“I’ll take a fine. I don’t really care. I thought Ben Taylor was f**king terrible today. On most nights, out of the 3, there’s 1 or 2 that just f**k the game up. It’s been like that a couple of games in a row.”

VanVleet is anything but happy with the referees right now, and his fine is well on its way as we speak. However, he made it clear he didn’t care about that, showing that he’s tired of the constant bad decisions from the officials.

The Raptors keep fighting to get out of the play-in zone, as they are 3.0 games away from the 6th seed, which belongs to the Miami Heat right now. Their 32-35 record perfectly describes their season, and Fred hopes to see something different from the refs soon, or perhaps these rants will keep happening.
