Metta Sandiford-Artest Backs The Los Angeles Lakers To Have Playoff Success: “I Still Think The Lakers Will Pull Off The Impossible.”

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had much to smile about this season and even less to be optimistic about in terms of the future. Not many people around the league have much belief in their ability to achieve things but there’s one man that hasn’t given up on them just yet.

Metta Sandiford-Artest has previously stated his belief in this Laker team and what they can do but this was before the team went on another losing slump and lost Anthony Davis for a few more months than they expected to. Now, he’s fortified his stance as being firmly in the team’s corner, expressing on Twitter that he still thinks they can achieve some success this season.

I still think @Lakers will pull off the impossible.

“I still think Lakers will pull off the impossible.”

The Lakers winning the title from this point onwards, where they are struggling to hold on to the 9th seed in the Western Conference and are 6 games below .500 would be one of the most incredible stories that the NBA has ever seen. It would be almost impossible for them to even make any noise in the playoffs considering how damaging their performances this season have been to the morale of the roster as well as the franchise as a whole.

Sandiford-Artest may mean well but these types of expectations on a roster that is lacking in key areas like three-point shooting is what has led to some of the negativity around the organization as well. The Lakers are always expected to do well but the hype surrounding this iteration of the team has been a part of their downfall.

A game against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night will provide the Lakers with their next opportunity to start turning their fortunes around. However, with the Blazers sitting just 2.5 games behind them and a real threat of missing the playoffs entirely, it is a case of now or never for this Lakers team.
