Michael Jordan Has The Highest Points Per Game In The Regular Season, NBA Playoffs And NBA Finals

2 Min Read

Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain — who is the GOAT? While this topic has been a huge subject of debate (especially recently), it seems there is no real answer to the age-old question.

Still, MJ probably has the most convincing claim to that title and it’s easy to see why.

Among other things, he’s one of the NBA’s All-Time best scorers. And while many have passed him in terms of total points, he rules the stat sheet when it comes to the per-game numbers.

In the regular season, playoffs, and Finals, MJ has the highest point-per-game output of anyone in the league at 30.1, 33.4, and 33.6, respectively. He holds the record for points scored in a playoff game with 63, the most 50 point games in the playoffs, and most 40 point games in the playoffs MJ never shot under 40% in the finals, didn’t lose 3 games in a row for 8 years and played all 82 games 9-times in his career. The guy was just unstoppable.

Of course, scoring isn’t all of what he did. He could distribute, defend, rebound, and pretty much anything else you can think of. But perhaps the greatest assets were his mental toughness and work ethic. He didn’t get rattled in the big moments and always worked harder than everyone else.
