The Sacramento Kings failed to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in their first-round series against the Golden State Warriors with a 97-114 Game 3 loss.
After a controversial incident between Draymond Green and Domantas Sabonis led to a tense suspension for Green, Mike Brown believed his team was at an officiating disadvantage. He let his players know that as well, talking after the first quarter had ended.
“We told them that the refs aren’t going to call the game in our favor… We knew that was going to happen.”

Even if the refereeing swung toward the Warriors, it wasn’t by much. Both teams shot 23 free throws in the game and the Kings were only called for three more personal fouls than the Warriors. The Kings just didn’t have their offense clicking as well as it does, struggling to even put up 100 points in their first road playoff game in 16 years.
Can The Warriors Comeback?
We have seen 2-0 comebacks happen in basketball by a lower seed before. If it can be done, it’s hard to count out the dynastic Warriors that seem to have a match lit under them after the Green suspension. Their defense was on point last night even though Green was not on the floor. Stephen Curry wanted everyone in the league to remember their reputations after this win, proving they’re pushing for an upset.
The Kings may have more variety across their rotation, but the caliber of their top players just doesn’t match with the championship pedigree of the Warriors. Not only did most of the rotation win a title last year, but the core has also won four titles together. If anybody knows how to overcome adversity, it is them.
